The Consent Calendar is a list of non-controversial bills that bypass the General Register in the House or General Orders in the Senate. The bills have had two prior readings and have been acted upon by one or more standing committees. In the Senate, they can be removed from the Consent Calendar, if three members object to the bill because it is controversial. In the House, at least five members need to object to the bill for it to be removed from the Consent Calendar and returned to the General Register. See the House Order of Business or Senate Order of Business for more links to the Consent Calendars.
