GOVERNOR PAWLENTY ISSUES EXECUTIVE ORDER REGARDING MOTOR CARRIER REGULATIONS -- December 16, 2005 |

Governor Tim Pawlenty today issued an executive order directing that carriers and drivers of commercial vehicles transporting heating and motor fuels be exempt from regulated hours of service. Current regulations require service drivers to load fuel at certain times, which has placed additional strain on the already-high petroleum demand due to severely cold weather. |

Governor Tim Pawlenty today issued an emergency executive order declaring a state of emergency in the northwestern Minnesota counties affected by the severe winter storm of November 27-29, 2005. The storm inflicted widespread and extensive damage to the public infrastructure, as well as to homes and farms in the counties of Big Stone, Clay, Lincoln, Mahnomen, Norman, Otter Tail, Stevens, Traverse, Wilkin, and Yellow Medicine. |
