GOVERNOR PAWLENTY ISSUES EXECUTIVE ORDER PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO STORM DAMAGED COMMUNITIES -- September 28, 2005 |

| Governor Tim Pawlenty today issued an executive order providing state assistance to communities impacted by last week's severe storms. The order authorizes the Minnesota Department of Transportation to provide equipment and personnel to assist local units of government in gathering and disposing downed trees and other debris and the Department of Public Safety, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, to continue to provide emergency support and assistance to the affected areas pursuant to the Minnesota Emergency Operations Plan. |

EXECUTIVE COUNCIL APPROVES EMERGENCY EXECUTIVE ORDER PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO HURRICANE KATRINA EVACUEES -- September 12, 2005 |

| The state Executive Council – consisting of the Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and State Auditor – met this morning and approved an emergency executive order providing assistance to Hurricane Katrina evacuees in Minnesota. The order will give evacuees immediate access to state health and welfare benefits. |
