Governor Tim Pawlenty today proclaimed Monday, March 28, 2005 to be a Day of Remembrance in Minnesota to honor and mourn the victims of the tragic shootings in Red Lake. He has ordered that Minnesota flags on state property and at schools be flown at half-staff and encouraged that a moment of silence and reflection be observed at 2:00 p.m.

Governor Tim Pawlenty today ordered that the United States flag and the State of Minnesota flag be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol Complex from sunrise on Thursday, March 3, 2005, until sunset on Friday, March 4, 2005, in honor and remembrance of Staff Sgt. David Day, who was killed in action in Iraq last week.

David Day, First Lt. Jason Timmerman, and Sgt. Jesse Lhotka, who were killed in action in Iraq this past Monday.
