MINNESOTA ACCOUNTS FOR 10 PERCENT OF U.S. JOB GROWTH AGAIN IN JULY -- August 15, 2006
Minnesota added jobs for the 13th straight month in July with an increase of 11,600 jobs, according to figures released today by the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) On average, Minnesota's job gains over the past four months account for 10 percent of the nation's job growth.

GOVERNOR PAWLENTY REQUESTS AGRICULTURAL DISASTER DECLARATION FOR 36 MINNESOTA COUNTIES -- August 8, 2006
Governor Tim Pawlenty today sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns requesting a federal agricultural disaster be declared for 36 Minnesota counties, which would allow drought-impacted farmers and ranchers to receive low-interest loans from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

GOVERNOR PAWLENTY ANNOUNCES THAT HIGHWAYS 59 AND 19 TO REMAIN PRINCIPAL ARTERIES -- August 7, 2006
Governor Pawlenty announced today that there will be no change in classification for U.S. Highway 59 from Marshall to Worthington and Minnesota Highway 19 from Redwood Falls to Marshall. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) had recommended a change in classification for the highway stretches as part of a regular review process.
