GOVERNOR PAWLENTY ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL $29.1 MILLION FOR LOW INCOME ENERGY PROGRAM -- March 23, 2006
Governor Tim Pawlenty announced today that Minnesota will receive an additional $29.1 million in low-income energy assistance from the federal government. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is directing funds to areas where home heating bills have been impacted by higher energy prices.

MINNESOTA RECEIVES $12.5 MILLION IN FEDERAL GRANTS FOR VETERANS HOMES -- March 21, 2006
Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced that Minnesota is receiving $12.5 million from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for improvements at two veterans homes. The federal grants will reimburse the state for renovations that have been completed at facilities in Hastings and Silver Bay.

PAWLENTY'S BONDING PROPOSAL REFLECTS COMMITMENT TO BUILDING ON MINNESOTA'S SUCCESS -- January 17, 2006
Governor Tim Pawlenty today released his full bonding proposal for the 2006 legislative session, putting the focus on projects to enhance Minnesota’s quality of life with statewide impact.  The proposal is $811 million in general obligation bonding, with a total of $897 million when user-financed bonds, trunk highway bonds, and cash amounts are included.

DEED COMMISSIONER MATT KRAMER LEAVING FOR POSITION IN PRIVATE SECTOR -- March 17, 2006
Governor Pawlenty announced today that Commissioner Matt Kramer of the Department of Employment and Economic Development is leaving his administration to return to the private sector effective April 3, 2006. Deputy Commissioner Ward Einess will serve as Acting Commissioner. Einess previously was a Senior Policy Advisor to Governor Pawlenty on economic and employment issues.

GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES $10 MILLION IN STATE GRANTS TO HELP END LONG-TERM HOMELESSNESS IN MINNESOTA -- March 15, 2006
As part of the Pawlenty Administration’s effort to end long-term homelessness in Minnesota, Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced $10 million in state grants to provide supportive housing services for 1,500 Minnesotans. The grants have been awarded to county and tribal groups throughout the state by the Minnesota Department of Human Services in conjunction with its partners, the Minnesota Department of Corrections and the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency.
