Transportation Studies

The Minnesota Department of Transportation Office of Research Innovation produces numerous reports each year about various transportation related topics. This office studies how MnDOT can improve design and respond to what Minnesotans need from their transportation systems. Some reports the Library has recently added to the collection include:

In addition to these MnDOT studies, the Library has added the 2023 State Transportation Electrification Scorecard by ACEEE. The scorecard measures a state’s progress, at both the agency and legislative level, in creating infrastructure and policies that support the use of light-duty and heavy-duty electric vehicles.

Although Minnesota is ranked #17, the scorecard authors note the state is a regional standout: “Outside the top 10, regional standouts are Minnesota in the Midwest and Virginia in the Southeast. Minnesota excels at policies that support grid optimization for electric vehicles while Virginia has taken strong actions in planning.” The report contains numerous state-by-state charts on the specific metrics of study including electric vehicle registration fees, electric vehicle incentives, grid optimization, and individual state goals.
