Ethanol
Ethanol plants have been springing up around the United States, and particularly in the Upper Midwest, during the past few years. There are many unknowns surrounding this quickly
expanding industry. How big a piece of the alternative fuel market will ethanol occupy and what is its long-term future? Which biomass source(s) will prove most effective in ethanol production?
What are the long-range implications for farmers, rural economies, the environment, and the food supply? The Legislative Library has several reports and magazines that focus on these issues.
