Function: Study and compile pertinent information relating to the state's outdoor recreation resources and opportunities with the view in mind to determining the amount, kind, quality, and location of outdoor recreation resources and opportunities as will be required by the year 2000. As a result of these studies the commission is to make appropriate recommendations for accomplishing these future requirements. (2011)
Membership:
14 appointed members; 7 members of the Senate, appointed by the committee on committees, and 7 members of the House, appointed by the Speaker. Members are chosen before the close of each regular session of the legislature and serve until their successors are appointed. Commission members were entitled to reimbursement for actual expenses not exceeding $25 per day plus travel expenses incurred in the services of the commission. (2011)
