GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS TWO TO AUTO ASSIGNED CLAIMS BUREAU -- July 3, 2003

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of Brenda Elmer and the reappointment of Robert Provost to the Minnesota Automobile Assigned Claims Bureau. Both will serve two-year terms that expire on January 3, 2005.

Elmer, of Moorhead, worked for the Minnesota House of Representatives for over eight years prior to moving to Moorhead earlier this year. Elmer replaces Linda Rucker.

Provost, of Minneapolis, was president of the Minnesota Insurance Information Center and chaired the Consumer Information Task Force when the state's no-fault insurance law was implemented. Provost has been a member of the bureau since 1991.

The Minnesota Automobile Assigned Claims Bureau governs the operation of the Minnesota Auto Assigned Claims Plan in providing no-fault basic economic loss benefits to eligible recipients. The bureau consists of seven members, including two public members appointed by the Governor.
