GOVERNOR PAWLENTY APPOINTS HENNING TO IRRRB -- May 14, 2003

Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today announced the appointment of William Henning to the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB).

Henning, of Ely, is the executive director of the Ely Area Development Association (EADA), where he has directed the agency's involvement in more than $8 million in community and economic development since 1995. Henning, who holds an MBA from Louisiana Tech, replaces Patricia Ives as a citizen member for a two-year term that expires January 3, 2005.

The Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board considers expenditures for projects for rehabilitation in the taconite tax relief area (TTRA) of northeastern Minnesota. The Board consists of 13 members, including one citizen member appointed by the Governor. The Governor also appoints the commissioner of the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Agency (IRRRA).
