With health care and prescription drug costs continuing to rise at a rate much faster than inflation, Governor Tim Pawlenty today called on Congress to place a two-year federal moratorium on prescription drug advertising and announced state legislation that would require drug companies to report the costs of their advertising to the state. |

MINNESOTA JOB GROWTH STRONGEST IN 22 YEARS -- July 18, 2006 |

June was an extremely strong month for job growth in the state with an increase of 14,700 jobs, according to figures released today by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). When added to the upwardly revised job gain of 3,300 in May and the 14,900 new jobs in April, the second quarter 2006 experienced a total job gain of 32,900?10 percent of the nation?s growth and the highest quarterly gain since the first quarter of 1984. |
