Witte who died a hero while protecting his country and fighting for freedom on Friday, October 20, 2006, in Iraq. |

Governor Tim Pawlenty announced today that Minnesota is receiving $69.7 million in federal funds to help low-income families in the state pay their heating bills this winter. The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funds are released now to ensure states have the resources available to support their energy assistance programs as the weather turns colder. |

Governor Pawlenty has received notice that U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns has granted the Governor's request to add Douglas, Otter Tail and Swift Counties to the previously declared federal agriculture disaster area. As a result of the latest declaration, farmers and ranchers affected by the drought will be able to receive low-interest loans from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. |

Governor Tim Pawlenty announced today that the Minnetonka Public School District will implement Minnesota's nation-leading Q Comp performance and professional pay program. Minnetonka will be the 27th school district in the state to participate and will receive $2 million in state aid and local revenues for implementation in the 2006-07 school year. |
