Workers' Compensation Reinsurance Association
Function: The Reinsurance Association was created to reimburse insurers and self-insurers for costs of catastophic claims in excess of $300,000.
This non-profit organization was created by the 1979 Minnesota Legislature.
Board of directors: 13 plus commissioner of labor and industry.
Per statutes: a nonprofit association, not a state agency (Minn. Stat. 79.34).
