Governor's Task Force on Personnel Management

Function:

Study personnel management in Minnesota state government; analyze Minnesota's personnel law as it applies to practices in examining and referral, total compensation, classification, work force size, turnover, training, affirmative action, labor relations, and general personnel management practices; assist in development of a model personnel law.

History:

This task force studied and analyzed Minnesota's personnel law as it applies to practices in examining and referral, total compensation, classification, work force size, turnover, training, affirmative action, labor relations, and general personnel management practices. The group reported to the Governor and Commissioner of Personnel by August 15, 1980 with its findings and recommendations. It also assisted with developing a model personnel law by September 30, 1980. The task force terminated on that same day.

Membership:

15 members representative of the community, business, labor, personnel, and management.
