GENERAL NOTES

According to his obituary he lived in Saude, Norway then in Drommen, Norway before he came to Boone County, Illinois in 1856. However in Saude og Nesheringer i Amerika it says his family came to America in 1853 and moved to Fillmore County, Minnesota in 1856. His son's obituary also lists 1856 as the date they came to Minnesota. However the Minnesota Legislative Manual, 1877 says he settled in Fillmore County, Minnesota in 1859. Biographical Sketches of the Officers of Minnesota and the 19th Minnesota State Legislature by C.L. Hall, 1877 says he came to Boone County, Illinois in 1853 and moved to Minnesota in 1856.

His obituary says he was born in Tellemarken, Norway on January 24. In Saude og Nesheringer i Amerika it states he was born on January 20.

He died of old age at his son, Rollef's home in Courtenay, Noth Dakota.
