Statement from Governor Mark Dayton on Jacob Wetterling Memorial Service

Governor has declared Saturday, October 22, 2016, to be “Jacob Wetterling Day” in Minnesota
 
ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton today issued the following statement, following the memorial service for Jacob Wetterling. Governor Dayton attended the service earlier today.

“Today is a very hard day for the Wetterling family and for all Minnesotans. Jacob’s tragedy profoundly affected all of us. On behalf of all Minnesotans, I extend my deepest condolences to the Wetterling family.”
 
On Friday, Governor Dayton issued a proclamation declaring Saturday, October 22, 2016, to be “Jacob Wetterling Day” in the State of Minnesota, marking the 27th anniversary of his kidnapping.
