Commission on Judicial Selection Announces Upcoming Vacancy on Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals

ST. PAUL, MN – The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today that a judgeship vacancy is occurring on the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals. This vacancy will occur upon the resignation of the Honorable Manuel J. Cervantes on February 2, 2018.
 
The Commission is searching for fair, experienced, and civic-minded individuals to serve on the bench and offer their talents and services to Minnesota. Candidates must be learned in the law, have been licensed to practice law for at least five years, and have experience with and knowledge of workers’ compensation and the workers’ compensation laws of Minnesota. The following qualities will be considered for judicial office: integrity, maturity, health (if job related), judicial temperament, legal knowledge, ability, experience, and community service. The application process is now open for this vacancy.

Sheehy, Chair of the Commission on Judicial Selection, at 130 State Capitol, 75 Rev Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55155, or by contacting Megan Jablonski Johnson, Judicial Appointments Coordinator, via e-mail at a Megan.JablonskiJohnson@state.mn.us. A cover letter and resume should also be submitted with the application. Letters of recommendation are encouraged but not required. The Commission asks for no more than 10 letters per candidate. All application materials are due by close of business on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Interviews are scheduled to be held on February 9, 2018.
