Governor Dayton will celebrate Minnesota’s deer hunting tradition and help kick off the 2016 season
ST. PAUL, MN – To help kick off the season and celebrate Minnesota’s rich hunting heritage, Governor Mark Dayton will host the 2016 Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener in the Breezy Point/Pequot Lakes Area on Thursday, November 3, 2016.
“I am delighted to continue the tradition of the Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener in Pequot Lakes and Breezy Point,” said Governor Dayton. “Nearly 500,000 Minnesotans enjoy deer hunting in our state every year, beginning with this great event. I wish successful hunting and safe returns to everyone.”
In the afternoon, Governor Dayton will attend a Youth Outdoor Expo, designed to introduce the next generation to deer hunting. In the evening, the Governor will provide remarks at the Governor’s Deer Opener community banquet. Both of these events are open to the press. More details can be found below.
