Today, Governor Dayton signed six bills into law

Today, Governor Dayton signed six bills into law:

  • Chapter 141, Senate File 1542 modifies requirements for defensive driving refresher courses. This bill passed with unanimous support.

  • Chapter 142, SF 1735 makes miscellaneous changes in state banking laws that apply to state-chartered banks. This bill passed the House with strong bipartisan support and the Senate with unanimous support.

  • Chapter 143, House File 382 modifies provisions for receiverships and assignments for the benefit of creditors. This bill passed with unanimous support.

  • Chapter 144, House File 2078 expands the use of nonpublic school textbook aid to include software and other educational technology. This bill passed the House with unanimous support, and the Senate with strong bipartisan support.

  • Chapter 145, House File 2291 modifies Adult Basic Education contact hours and defines service disruptions. This bill passed the House with near-unanimous support and the Senate with unanimous support.

  • Chapter 147, House File 2793 expands the types of transport allowable for certain vehicle combinations. This bill passed with unanimous support.
