ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the reappointment of the Honorable Gary M. Hall as Judge of the Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals. Judge Hall is appointed to a six year term, which will expire on January 3, 2022.
“Judge Gary M. Hall has served the people of Minnesota with distinction in this important role,” said Governor Dayton. “I thank him for his many years of service to the State of Minnesota, and for his continued commitment to safety and justice in the workplace.”
Judge Hall is a current judge of the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals, where he has served since his appointment by Governor Dayton in 2012. Prior to his appointment, he was the Assistant Commissioner for Safety and Workers’ Compensation at the Department of Labor and Industry and Workers’ Compensation Judge with the Office of Administrative Hearings. Judge Hall earned his BA summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota and his JD from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Judge Hall is a former member of the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section National Conference of Specialized Court Judges and the National Association of Hearing Officials. He also volunteers with Moot Court and the Rosetown Playhouse Community Theater.
The Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals is an independent agency of Minnesota’s executive branch. It reviews workers’ compensation cases decided by compensation judges at the Office of Administrative Hearings and some cases decided by the Workers’ Compensation Division at the Department of Labor and Industry.
