Governor Mark Dayton Signs Two More Unsession Bills

Governor Dayton signs more Unsession bills, 188 Unsession provisions have now become law

Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed two Unsession bills into law. The bills include 8 Unsession provisions the Governor recommended to the Legislature in early March. Altogether, 188 Unsession provisions have now become law.

  • Chapter 204, HF 2668: This courts bill streamlines several process improvements for litigants and changes several laws to further enable the court to move toward electronic court record processing. This bill contains 7 Unsession provisions. The bill passed unanimously in both chambers.
  • Chapter 205, HF 2479: This Unsession bill allows housing courts and housing calendars to use referees for the majority of landlord and tenant cases. This bill contains 1 Unsession provision. The bill passed unanimously in both chambers.
