Governor congratulates the University of Minnesota Duluth Men’s Hockey Team on winning their second NCAA Division I Championship
ST. PAUL, MN – Alongside Coach Scott Sandelin, Athletic Director Josh Berlo, and University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler, Governor Mark Dayton proclaimed today, Wednesday, April 18, 2018, to be “
UMD Men’s Hockey National Champions Day” in Minnesota. Governor Dayton’s proclamation honors the University of Minnesota Duluth Men’s Hockey Team for winning their second NCAA Division I Championship.
“Led by Coach Scott Sandelin, the Bulldogs Men demonstrated extraordinary determination, skill, and perseverance on their way to the University’s second Men’s Hockey National Championship,” reads Governor Dayton’s proclamation. “The University of Minnesota Duluth Men’s Hockey Team serves as a source of great pride for all people in the State of Minnesota.”
The University of Minnesota Duluth Men’s Hockey Team secured their second NCAA Division I Championship after their 2-1 victory over the University of Notre Dame in the NCAA Division I Men's Hockey 2018 Frozen Four championship game earlier this month.
