Minnesota graduation rate rises to 81.9 percent, with gains across nearly all student groups
ST. PAUL, MN – Today, the Minnesota Department of Education
released a new report showing that Minnesota’s graduation rate increased from 81.2 percent in 2014 to 81.9 percent in 2015. The report showed gains in graduation rates among all student groups except English Learners over the last year.

“I congratulate Minnesota students, teachers, and parents for this continued improvement. We should be encouraged by this progress, but we must continue our work to ensure all our students get quality educations and the support they need to graduate, and succeed in life.”
The following is a statement from Lt. Governor Tina Smith.
“Since 2010, we have cut the disparity between students of color and white students by 38 percent. Despite this progress, we must continue to support policies that increase opportunity, including expanded early learning options, improved access to home visiting programs, and additional counselors and mental health professionals in our high schools.”
