ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Judge Jeanne M. Cochran as the Sixth Congressional District Judge on the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Judge Cochran will be replacing the Honorable Randolph W. Peterson.
“Judge Jeanne Cochran is eminently qualified to serve on the Minnesota Court of Appeals,” said Governor Dayton. “Her many years of dedicated public service and judicial experience have prepared her well to take on this important role. I thank Judge Cochran for continuing her service to the people of Minnesota.”
About Judge Jeanne M. Cochran
Judge Cochran is an Administrative Law Judge with the Office of Administrative Hearings, where she presides over a wide range of regulatory matters. Previously, she was an Assistant Minnesota Attorney General in the Civil Litigation Division, an Assistant Minnesota Attorney General in the Residential and Small Business Utilities Division, an attorney/legislative analyst in the House Research Department of the Minnesota House of Representatives, an associate attorney in the Public Law Group at Leonard, Street, and Deinard, and an associate attorney at the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund. Judge Cochran earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from Dartmouth College and her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota School of Law.
Judge Cochran has been an EveryBody Wins MN reading volunteer, and a member of the Stillwater Alpine Ski Team Booster Club and the YMCA Widjiwagan Board of Directors.
