St. Paul, MN - Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Colleen Thompson Michels to an Eighth Judicial District non-attorney position on the Commission on Judicial Selection. Ms. Thompson Michels will serve as one of four Eighth Judicial District members.

Ms. Thompson Michels, now retired, served as the President of Ridgewater College in Willmar and Hutchinson. She previously held roles with the college as Vice President of Academic Affairs and as the Dean of Instruction. Ms. Thompson Michels also managed her own radio advertising consulting service and is a former teacher with Minneapolis Southwest High School. She is a member of the Willmar Area Chamber of Commerce and is actively involved with the United Way of West Central Minnesota.
