ST. PAUL, MN - Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Ms. Tammy L. Pust as Chief Administrative Law Judge at the Office of Administrative Hearings. Ms. Pust will be replacing the Honorable Raymond R. Krause, who is resigning on May 3, 2013.
"Tammy Pust's extensive legal experience in state government and her outstanding commitment to public service have made her uniquely qualified to serve as Chief Administrative Law Judge," said Governor Dayton. "I am confident, based on her qualifications, that Ms. Pust will serve the state with excellence in this new role."
Ms. Pust is the current Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at the Minnesota Department of Education, providing legal counsel to the commissioner and agency staff related to the department's operations. She formerly served as a trial partner for Parker Rosen, LLC, conducting neutral fact-finding investigations for the State of Minnesota, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, and private employers. Ms. Pust has also been a partner at the law firm of Jesson and Pust, P.A. and is a former Assistant Attorney General, where she served as the Policy Director for Children and Families. Ms. Pust received her B.A. from Concordia College in Moorhead and her J.D. from the University of Minnesota School of Law.
Additionally, Ms. Pust is a board member of the PACER Center, Inc., a member of the Ethics Committee for the Ramsey County Bar Association, and a former councilmember of the Roseville City Council.
Ms. Pust resides in Roseville.
The Office of Administrative Hearings is an independent tribunal within the executive branch. It is responsible for conducting administrative law hearings for most state agencies and many local governments, as well as all hearings on workers' compensation benefits claims. The office also exercises general supervision over state agency rulemaking.
