Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed three bills into law:
Chapter 137, House File 392 modifies school bus safety and standards. This bill passed the State House with strong bipartisan support, and the State Senate with unanimous support.
Chapter 138, House File 2376 streamlines the approval process for school districts to purchase food service equipment from the food service fund. This bill passed both bodies of the legislature with unanimous support.
Chapter 139, House File 1524 exempts retired school principals serving as short-term substitute principals from needing to complete continuing education requirements. This bill passed the State House with unanimous support, and the State Senate with strong bipartisan support.
