Saint Paul, MN - The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today it is recommending a candidate to Governor Mark Dayton for consideration to fill the current vacancy created upon Judge Charles A. Porter Jr's retirement in Minnesota's Fourth Judicial District. Due to the withdrawal of a previously named candidate, the Commission is recommending a candidate to fill his place. Previously recommended candidates include Luis Bartolomei, Andrew Dunne and Kathleen Sheehy.

Edward T. Wahl - Wahl is currently a partner at Faegre and Benson, LLP where he practices in complex financial litigation. Throughout his career, Wahl has focused on building a broad practice in commercial and business litigation, working at Oppenheimer Wolff and Donnelly LLP and at Morrison and Foerster in Washington DC. Wahl routinely conducts pro bono work by volunteering with the LAP Clinic in Hennepin County. He serves on the boards of the Minnesota Private College Council and the non-profit press, Milkweed Editions.

An announcement of the appointment will be made following an interview process.
