ST. PAUL, MN - Lt. Governor Yvonne Prettner Solon released the following statement on the news that Joan Mondale has passed away. 

"Joan Mondale blazed a new path for women political activists. An accomplished ceramicist, Joan was a passionate advocate for the arts and a dynamic political partner - helping to change America's idea of what a political spouse could accomplish. Joan's example was an inspiration for so many women, including myself. Without a doubt, her legacy will continue to inspire future generations of women. Like so many others, I am grateful for the leadership she displayed and her years of devoted public service. During this difficult period, my family and I are keeping Vice President Mondale and his family in our thoughts and prayers."
