Governor Dayton Issues Letter to Flood Diversion Authority

Governor expresses concerns, says all Minnesotans impacted should have a voice in the decision

ST. PAUL, MN - Earlier today, /governor/assets/2014_08_29_Flood_Diversion_Authority_Letter.pdf_tcm1055-92363.pdfGovernor Mark Dayton sent this letter to the Flood Diversion Authority, expressing his concerns with the Fargo-Moorhead Area Flood Diversion Project.

"I am committed to ensuring that residents can live and work near the Red River without the fear of losing their homes or businesses," Governor Dayton wrote in his letter. "However, I have serious reservations with how the Diversion Authority is proceeding with this projectMy goal is to ensure that all Minnesotans impacted have a full voice in the decision-making process."

The Governor will hold two public meetings on the Flood Diversion Project next week in Moorhead and Breckenridge. Details of those meetings, which are open to the press and public, are as follows:
