Governor Dayton Signs Two More Unsession Bills

Governor signs two more Unsession bills, 137 Unsession provisions have now become law

Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed two Unsession bills into law. The bills include 16 Unsession provisions the Governor recommended to the Legislature in early March. Altogether, 137 Unsession provisions have now become law.

  • Chapter 187, HF 2217: This Unsession bill updates provisions in grants and contract management processes. The bill also provides an encumbrance exception in the grant process. This bill contained one Unsession provision. The bill passed the House 126-1 and the Senate 59-0.
  • Chapter 192, HF 2874: This bill eliminates and modernizes antiquated, unnecessary, and obsolete health provisions. This bill contained 15 Unsession provisions. The bill passed unanimously in both chambers.
