In 2014, Governor Dayton, Legislature invested $14.5 million in Mankato Civic Center expansion
ST. PAUL, MN – Today, the completion of the Mankato Civic Center expansion was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The event culminates an eight-year journey for the project. In 2014, Governor Mark Dayton signed into law
$14.5 million in funding to add an auditorium, additional meeting rooms, and renovate the ice arena. Below is a statement from Governor Dayton on the completed expansion.
“After years of hard work from committed partners, the expansion of the Mankato Civic Center is finally complete. The improved facility will attract thousands of additional visitors to the Greater Mankato Area each year, and will generate an estimated $50 million per year in economic impact. I was proud to support this project in my bonding bill in 2014, creating hundreds of new jobs in the region. I congratulate the many community leaders who worked to complete this important project.”
