Governor Mark Dayton Proclaims "Nordic Ware Day" in Minnesota

1/11/2016 10:07:51 AM

The Minnesota manufacturer is celebrating 70 years of producing American-made cooking, baking and kitchenware products

ST. PAUL, MN – Marking the Minnesota-based manufacturer’s 70th anniversary, Governor Mark Dayton has proclaimed Monday, January 11, 2016 to be “Nordic Ware Day” in Minnesota. Governor Dayton’s proclamation honors the company for decades of producing high-quality cooking, baking, and kitchenware products.

Dave and Dotty Dalquist founded Nordic Ware in the basement of their Minneapolis home in 1946. The company got started by producing Scandinavian specialty products, including the Rosette irons, Krumkake irons, Platte Panne pans, and the Ebelskiver pans. Today, Nordic Ware makes a variety of kitchen products. The company is perhaps best known for its Bundt pan, which can be found in kitchens around the world.

Nordic Ware products are American-made, employing approximately 300 people in their local community. The company also purchases its raw materials from across the United States and uses local machine shops, tool and tie makers, and contractors.
