Governor Mark Dayton signs bill into law honoring fallen Mendota Heights Police Officer

ST. PAUL, MN - Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed a bill into law designating a segment of Trunk Highway 149 (Dodd Road) in Mendota Heights, from the interchange with Interstate 494 to the intersection with Smith Avenue in West St. Paul, as Officer Scott Patrick Memorial Highway.
 
The legislation (Chapter 51, SF 1350) was authored by Representative Joe Atkins and Senator James Metzen.
 
About Officer Scott Patrick
Police Officer Scott Patrick was shot and killed on July 30, 2014, while making a traffic stop near the intersection of Dodd Road and Smith Avenue, in West St. Paul. Officer Patrick served honorably with the Mendota Heights Police Department for 19 years. He is survived by his wife and two teenage daughters.
