Redwood Falls to be Proclamed a Yellow Ribbon City

8/6/2014 10:14:43 AM

The City of Redwood Falls will be declared a Yellow Ribbon City during a Yellow Ribbon Proclamation ceremony, August 7, in Redwood Falls, Minn.

The men and women of the Minnesota National Guard, other U.S. Forces, and their families, have earned our admiration and appreciation, said Governor Mark Dayton. They have also earned our continuing assistance. I thank the Redwood Falls community for joining nearly 300 Yellow Ribbon cities, counties, and businesses, who have committed to support our Minnesota heroes, when they return home.

The Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Proclamation recognizes the combined efforts of key areas within a community to support Service members, veterans and military families and enable successful transition into the workplace for those who are returning from deployments.

Yellow Ribbon Networks are extremely important and vital in connecting returning service members with employers and ensuring that our service members and their families realize that the leaders of the Minnesota National Guard and their community care for their well-being and are prepared to assist them, said Army Maj. Gen. Richard C. Nash, Minnesota National Guard adjutant general.

The Yellow Ribbon Proclamation Ceremony will be held Thursday, August 7 at the Redwood Falls City Hall, 333 S. Washington Street, Redwood Falls, Minn. at 10:30 a.m.

Members of the media and general public are invited to attend the ceremony.
