Governor Mark Dayton has proclaimed Wednesday, May 15, 2013, as Law Enforcement Memorial Day in Minnesota, as a tribute to Peace Officers who lost their lives or were injured in the line of duty. On this Law Enforcement Memorial Day, the families of Minnesotans, Tom Decker, killed in the line of duty on November 29, 2012, and Josh Lynaugh, who died in the line of duty on February 16, 2013, will be dedicating the names of their loved ones on the National Law enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C.
Governor Dayton has also ordered all flags at state and federal buildings in Minnesota to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in honor and remembrance of Peace Officers who have been killed or injured in the line of duty.
