Saint Paul, MN - The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today it is recommending three candidates to Governor Mark Dayton for consideration to fill the current vacancy in Minnesota's First Judicial District which covers Carver, Dakota, Goodhue, LeSueur, McLeod, Scott and Sibley counties.
Ann Offerman: Offerman is an Assistant Dakota County Attorney where she is assigned to the Adult Criminal Prosecution Division. She previously served as a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Minnesota. Offerman is involved with the Minnesota River Valley YMCA and the Family Advisory Council with Children's Hospitals and Clinics.
Arlene Perkkio: Perkkio is an attorney who primarily represents individuals accused of crimes in Minnesota state and federal courts. She previously served as a Criminal Training Specialist for Ramsey County District Court. Perkkio is a member of the Minnesota Public Defender DNA Institute and was a past member of La Clinica.
Chris Wilton: Wilton is an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Minnesota. He previously served as an Assistant Ramsey County Attorney. Wilton is actively involved with local schools serving as a volunteer hockey coach for the Apple Valley Hockey Association and a parent volunteer with Olson Middle School.
An announcement of the appointment will be made following a rigorous interview process over the next few weeks.
