4/11/2014 10:14:43 AM

Unsession measures repeal seventeen more outdated laws

ST. PAUL, MN - Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed two more Unsession bills into law. The bills included 17 Unsession provisions that Governor Dayton recommended to the Legislature in early March.

  • Chapter 161, SF 2569: This bill repeals obsolete, redundant, and unnecessary laws and rules under the direction of the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. The bill also changes a State Register notice requirement that streamlines and provides easier public access to information. This bill passed the House 129-3 and the Senate 66-0.
  • Chapter 163, SF 2060: This food safety bill defines permitting rules for food product sampling and demonstration; with an exemption for a chili or soup cook-off event. The bill passed unanimously in both chambers.
