ST. PAUL, MN - Today, the Metropolitan Council announced the conclusion of the Southwest LRT municipal consent process, following a Minneapolis City Council vote. Hennepin County and the Cities of Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Hopkins and St. Louis Park had already provided consent to the project.

The following is a statement from Governor Dayton.

"I am very pleased that the Southwest Light Rail Transit Line is moving forward. When complete, it will improve many thousands of lives from Eden Prairie to North Minneapolis. It will create new jobs, reduce highway congestion, and better connect Minnesotans to one another."
