Minnesota has gained 162,100 new jobs since January 2011

ST. PAUL, MN - Today's monthly jobs report from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) showed Minnesota employers added 6,100 new jobs during the month of August. DEED also announced today that Minnesota's unemployment rate has dropped to 4.3 percent - reaching its lowest level since 2006. In total, Minnesota has added 162,100 new jobs since Governor Dayton took office in January 2011.

"Today's jobs report offers more evidence that Minnesota is headed in the right direction. Since 2011, our state has gained over 162,000 new jobs. The credit for our state's strong economic growth belongs to the successful Minnesota businesses and their hard-working employees. Thanks to them, we are making progress."
