A fourth vacancy has been announced in Hennepin County, for which applicants will be considered along with the three previously announced vacancies

ST. PAUL, MN -The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today that an additional judgeship vacancy is occurring in Minnesota's Fourth Judicial District. This additional vacancy was created upon the retirement of the Honorable Ann L. Alton, and will be chambered at Minneapolis in Hennepin County.

Earlier this month, three judgeship vacancies were announced in the Fourth Judicial District. These vacancies were created upon the appointment of the Honorable Denise D. Reilly to the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and the retirements of the Honorable Mary S. DuFresne and the Honorable Mark S. Wernick. The Commission on Judicial Selection will consider applicants for all four vacancies at once.

The Commission is searching for fair, experienced, and civic-minded individuals to serve on the bench and offer their talents and services to Minnesota's judicial system. The following qualities will be considered for judicial office: integrity, maturity, health (if job related), judicial temperament, legal knowledge, ability, experience, and community service. The application process remains open for these vacancies.
