Commission on Judicial Selection Recommends Eighth Judicial District Candidates to Governor Dayton

ST. PAUL, MN – The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today it is recommending three candidates to Governor Mark Dayton for consideration to fill the current vacancy in Minnesota’s Eighth Judicial District. This vacancy was created upon the retirement of the Honorable Gerald J. Siebel, and will be chambered at Elbow Lake in Grant County.
 
Cherie Clark: Ms. Clark is the Assistant Cass County Attorney in North Dakota, where she handles cases primarily in criminal matters as well as some civil cases. Previously, she was the Assistant Otter Tail County Attorney and was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Peter Hoff in the Eighth Judicial District. Ms. Clark is the Vice President of the Cass County Bar Association, serves on the Board of Directors for the Dorothy Day House, and previously served on the Board of Directors for the Moorhead Youth Soccer Association.
 
Amy Doll: Ms. Doll is an associate attorney at Fluegel, Anderson, McLaughlin & Brutlag, Chartered, where she handles cases primarily in personal injury law, wrongful death, social security disability, employment law, and other civil matters. Previously, she served as a member of the Morris Area Community Education Advisory Council and the Board of Education for the Morris Area Public Schools. Ms. Doll is a volunteer judge for the Minnesota State Bar Association Mock Trial Program and serves on the University of Minnesota Morris Alumni Association Advisory Board. 
 
Aaron Jordan: Mr. Jordan is the Stevens County Attorney, where he is responsible for prosecuting adult felony and misdemeanor offenses. Previously, he was the Assistant County Attorney in Cass County, MN, the Assistant Public Defender for the Eighth Judicial District, and was a solo practitioner at Jordan Law Office. Mr. Jordan serves on the Board of Directors for the Stevens County Pheasants Forever and the Kinship Partners, is President of the Stevens County Law Library Board, and previously served in the United States Air Force. 
 
Minnesota’s Eighth Judicial District consists of Big Stone, Chippewa, Grant, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, Meeker, Pope, Renville, Stevens, Swift, Traverse, Wilkins, and Yellow Medicine Counties.
 
An announcement of the appointment will be made following an interview process over the next few weeks.
