New accolade is Minnesota’s most recent in a string of top national rankings
ST. PAUL, MN – A new report has named Minnesota
one of the best states in the nation to retire. The report, issued by Bankrate.com, ranked all fifty states based on their quality of health care, culture, cost of living, weather, taxes, retiree population, crime rate, and well-being. Taking into account these important factors, Bankrate.com named Minnesota the fifth-best state in the nation to retire. The new ranking is one of several that have ranked Minnesota a top state for seniors. For instance, last year the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP)
named Minnesota the best state in the nation to retire.
“This report offers yet another national accolade for the world-class quality of life that people of all ages enjoy here in Minnesota,” said Governor Mark Dayton.
According to the Bankrate.com survey, Minnesota ranked highest among the states for the quality of our health care (3rd), the well-being of our seniors (4th), and the access to culture and social amenities (7th). The report also lauds Minnesota’s cost of living. In their words, it’s
“No surprise that the state that’s home to Mayo Clinic ranks near the top for health care. Minnesota also provides retirees with low costs, safe cities and an all-around comfortable way of life.” Read more about the ranking here.
