Governor Dayton Appoints Thomas Haluska to Fill a Minnesota Tax Court Vacancy

ST. PAUL, MN - Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of Mr. Thomas Haluska as Judge of the Minnesota Tax Court."Minnesota's Tax Court requires a Judge with strong moral character, and an exemplary work ethic," said Governor Dayton. "I believe Mr. Thomas Haluska will be that judge. Mr. Haluska's extensive knowledge of the law, strong reputation in the legal community, and successful legal career have prepared him well for success in this important position." 

Mr. Haulska currently serves as an Assistant Anoka County Attorney in the Civil Division, where he acts as the primary council for real estate tax appeals and represents the County in torts litigation, labor relations, and contract disputes. Mr. Haluska has been with the County Attorney's Office since 1979. Additionally, from 1969 - 1972, Mr. Haluska served in the United States Navy. He received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Minnesota.

The Minnesota Tax Court is an executive branch court established by the Minnesota Legislature to hear and consider tax-related cases.
