Notice of Appointments to Minnesota Board of Teaching

St. Paul-Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced the following appointments to the Minnesota Board of Teaching:

John Bellingham of Faribault is a sixth grade teacher at Faribault Middle School. He holds a M.S. in elementary education from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Bellingham is appointed as a classroom teacher representative to fill a four-year term that expires January 5, 2015.
He replaces Anita Otten on the board.

Lesa Clarkson Covington of Woodbury is an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities where she teaches in the department of curriculum and instruction. She holds a Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Clarkson Covington is appointed as a higher education representative to fill a four-year term that expires January 5, 2015.
She replaces Louise Wilson on the board.

Michael Larson of Lakeville is a second grade teacher at Farmington Elementary School. He holds a M.A. in education from Saint Mary's University, in Winona. Larson is appointed as a classroom teacher representative to fill a four-year term that expires January 5, 2015.
He replaces Lee-Ann Stephens on the board.

Karen Palmen of Saint Paul is teacher at Highland Park Senior High School. She holds a M.A. in education from the University of Saint Thomas, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in education from Hamline University. Palmen is appointed as a classroom teacher representative to fill a four-year term that expires January 5, 2015.
She replaces Patricia DeJarlais on the board.
