ST. PAUL, MN - This afternoon, the Online Voter Registration Bill passed with bipartisan support in the Minnesota Senate by a vote of 41-24. The Minnesota House of Representatives passed the bill several weeks ago by a vote of 129-2. Governor Mark Dayton plans to sign the bill into law as soon as he receives it this evening. The following is a statement from the Governor.
"I am very pleased that this bill passed with bipartisan support in both bodies, and I look forward to signing it into law today. All-told, 62 of the 89 Republicans in the Minnesota Legislature voted in favor of the bill. I thank the bill's authors, Sen. Katie Sieben and Rep. Steve Simon, and all the legislators who supported this bill on a bipartisan basis."
