3/1/2011 10:14:43 AM

Today, Governor Mark Dayton announced that he has proclaimed the month of March, 2011 to be Reading Month, along with March 2, 2011 as Read Across America Day, a national celebration of Dr. Seuss's 107th birthday, in the state of Minnesota.

Governor Dayton's proclamation notes that National Reading Month promotes reading and adult involvement in the education of our community's students and calls on Minnesotans to assure that every child is in a safe place reading together with a caring adult on March 2nd.

Governor Dayton also proclaimed the month of March, 2011 to be Women's History Month.
