Governor’s proclamation comes with five days remaining to enroll in 2018 coverage through MNsure; open enrollment ends January 14 at midnight
More than 111,600 Minnesotans have already enrolled in high-quality, affordable health insurance through MNsure
More than 60 percent of MNsure enrollees have qualified for federal tax credits, saving them an average $7,000 per year on their health insurance premiums
ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton today declared “
MNsure Enrollment Day” in Minnesota, with five days remaining to enroll in health care coverage for 2018 through MNsure. Already, more than 111,600 Minnesotans have successfully enrolled in private health coverage for 2018 through MNsure. Over 66,000 families have saved an average of more than $7,000 per year through tax credits that are only available with MNsure.
"More than 111,600 Minnesota families have already enrolled in high-quality, affordable health insurance through MNsure, saving an average of over $7,000 from federal tax credits,” said Governor Dayton. “Minnesotans who still need to buy health coverage should contact MNsure right away, to find out how much they can save on high-quality health care for themselves and their families this year.”
Minnesotans who have not yet purchased coverage for 2018 can use the
plan comparison tool to compare benefits, plan quality ratings, covered drug lists, and total estimated cost. The online MNsure marketplace is currently open 24 hours a day through January 14.
"If you're still considering your health insurance coverage options, you only have five more days to see if MNsure can save you or your family money," said MNsure CEO Allison O'Toole.
For additional resources or assistance, Minnesotans still looking to enroll in coverage should visit MNsure.org or call 1-855-366-7873. During the final weekend before the enrollment deadline, the MNsure Contact Center will be open for extended hours:
Friday, January 12: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, January 13: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday, January 14: 8 a.m. to midnight
Minnesotans who qualify for
Medicaid or
MinnesotaCare can enroll year round. Open enrollment deadlines do not apply to these programs.

MNsure serves Minnesotans who buy their health insurance on the individual market, which includes those who don’t get health insurance through their employer or a program like Medicare, Medicaid, or MinnesotaCare. MNsure also helps make health insurance more affordable to Minnesotans. Shopping and enrolling though MNsure is the only way Minnesotans can get federal tax credits to instantly reduce their premium costs.
