Governor Dayton Announces Health Insurance Exchange Board Appointments Process

Governor Dayton announced today that the board for MNSure, Minnesota's health insurance exchange, will be appointed. MNSure is a new marketplace where Minnesota individuals, families and small employers can get quality, affordable health insurance and access tax credits or assistance to help pay for coverage. Open enrollment in through MNsure begins this year and more than 1.3 million Minnesotans are expected to seek coverage through the exchange by 2016.
 
Governor Dayton is searching statewide for committed individuals to serve on the board, which will certify and select health insurance plans to be offered through MNSure. Candidates are sought to represent the interests of individual consumers, public health care programs, and small employers. Individuals with expertise in individual and small group insurance markets are encouraged to apply, as well as those with experience in health care administration, delivery, finance and purchasing. Applicants are also sought to represent the areas of public health, health disparities, public health care programs and the uninsured. The application process is now open for these vacancies.
 
Those interested in serving should submit an "Open Appointments" application along with a letter of interest and a resume for consideration. Application forms and criteria for board membership can be found on the Secretary of State's website at http://www.sos.state.mn.us/index.aspx?page=5.
